Is Your Daughter A Trend Setter?

Nomatter her age you want your daughter to look her best because what she wears IS a reflection on you (whether we like it or not). Furthermore, your child is constantly trying to keep up or outdo her peers in many ways and fashion is in the forefront of this competition, your daughters self esteem can also be boasted or deflated due to what her peers say about what she is wearing.
This being said…. When you shop for her do you go to the same store all the other moms shop at and buy the clothing you see being worn by all the other kids around OR do you look for the most gorgeous and unique clothes you can find?
If you answered yes to the 1st question than you might as well click off right now, run to Old Navy and pick out a couple of uniform shirts and allow your child to blend right into the fashion background.
If you answered yes to the 2nd question and want your daughter to be a Fashion Superstar than please read on……..
Hollywood’s youth does it all the time~ They walk down the red carpet or can be seen in magazines looking amazing and wearing unique clothes you can't find anywhere ~Your pre-teen or teenage daughter stares at those magazine for hours wanting to look just like their fav teenage icons. But where can you find those grand garments? Unfortunately the only ads in the magazines are for retail stores that do not sell that "eye catching" fashion you've seen or they sell item you can ill afford.
The words you want to refer to for these Awesome Beverly Hills Attire are: Unique and Stylish (and for all of us out here that are not in the tiny 1% of the uber wealthy population Affordable would be the 3rd word).
The movie stars, popstars and super models your daughter looks up to, all have one thing in common. They all wear dashing, distinctive clothing that stand out in the crowd (I’m not talking about the scary, out there fashion you see on the runway). I’m going to give you a few ideas that may help you achieving this type of wardrobe.
Tip 1: You may or may not know this but the nice thing about these magazines is that they usually list who supplied the wardrobe on the top or bottom of the page. This is the best tip to "Name that Fashion"! Because many of these designers are little known in our circles and most of the time they are reasonably priced this is a great way to go about fattening her wardrobe without thinning your wallet. So look through her magazines and pick up a couple of these names.
Tip 2: Outrageous may be a form of unique but it is not necessarily Stylish!!! I cannot press this enough!! Runway models wear some hideous stuff and the oohs & aahs you hear in the audience does not mean that you should put your daughter in these clothes. PLEASE DON’T put your child in an outfit that she is embarrassed to wear; if she doesn't like it, chances are neither will her classmates and this may only hurt her self image!!! The purpose of the runways in many cases is to show what the designer CAN do.
Tip 3: Unique is Great! If it’s stylish & cute the uniqueness will make it a one of a kind, stand out in the crowd, every girl in school will want it, kind of outfit. Do this right and your daughter can be the trend starter of her school and other will look to HER for the next fashion do’s.
Tip 4: It doesn’t have to be a big name to be a big hit. Look to handmade or custom made clothing stores. This is the absolute best way to find her that one of the kind wear. Because handmade is custom, every single one will be different no matter what. You can even talk to the designer of these handcrafted clothes to make them a little more singular by added on ribbons, bows, sequins, beads, tulle, orgaza or anything else your heart desires and most of these small companies will be all too happy to do it for you.
